6° TREVISO MARATHON

OFFICIAL RULES

The 6th edition of the Treviso Marathon - international marathon covering the distance of 42,195 Km - will be held on Sunday 29th of March, 2009 with departure from Vittorio Veneto and arrival in Treviso. The race course has been measured and certified by Aims/Iaaf on August, 24th 2006.

CRITERIA OF PARTICIPATION

  • All participants must be at least 18 years old by the date of the race, 29/03/2009
  • All athletes:
  • must be members of FIDAL or, in case of disables athletes, of CIP
  • or must be members of other sporting federations recognized by Fidal
  • or must have a medical certificate to prove they meet the medical criteria for participation in athletics - valid on 29/03/2009 - and must have the Fidal card for participating in road races.
Foreign athletes, who are members of their National Sporting Federation affiliated to IAAF, can take part in the race if authorized in performing abroad by the Federation itself and in accordance with IAAF regulations.
Athletes who are not resident in Italy can take part in the race as well, in accordance with the regulations provided for by the Country of residence and signing the specific self-certification slip provided by Maratona di Treviso Scrl.
Foreign athletes resident in Italy are required to respect the Italian regulation.

REGISTRATION FEE

  • 25 € for who participated at the marathon 2008 and subscribes within October 31st.
  • 30 € until January 31st, 2009
  • 40 € from February 1st until March 9th, 2009
  • 50 € from March 10th to 19th, 2009
Athletes who are not holders of a sporting card are required to add 5 € at the registration fee in order to get the Fidal card for participating in road races. Athletes, along with the receipt of payment, are required to send the schedule for the daily Fidal members card (in double copy), and the medical certificate to prove they meet the medical criteria for participation in athletics.
It is possible to get the membership at Fidal for the season 2009 through the sporting societies which organize the Treviso Marathon. Athletes who participated to all the six editions of the Treviso Marathon will be given a gift along with the race number.

DISABLED ATHLETES

  • 25 € for who participated at the marathon 2008 and subscribes within October 31st.
  • 30 € until March 19th, 2009
The registration fee will be established with regards to the date of effected payment and not the date of sending of the subscription form.

APPLICATION MODALITIES

  • By post, sending the appropriate form (even photocopied) carefully filled in and signed, along with a cheque or a receipt of payment made by post, or again by postal transfer or bank transfer to: Maratona di Treviso Scrl, via Martiri delle Foibe 20 – Z.I. Scomigo - 31015 Conegliano (TV).
  • By fax, isending the appropriate form carefully filled in and signed, along with a receipt of payment made by post, postal transfer or bank transfer at this fax number: 0438-413475.
  • By Internet, following our website indications on www.trevisomarathon.com and paying on-line by credit card (service provided by ActiveEurope.com).
  • By Treviso Marathon stands placed at various sporting events, or by our secretariat located in via Martiri delle Foibe 20 – Z.I. Scomigo - 31015 Conegliano (TV). From Monday to Friday: from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

PAYMENT MODALITIES

  • Postal payment is to be effected in the current account n° 80406226 registered in Atletica Industriali Conegliano. Description of payment: 6th Treviso Marathon entrance.
  • Postal transfer payment is to be effected in the current account registered in Atletica Industriali Conegliano. Description of payment: 6th Treviso Marathon entrance. IBAN: IT29K0760112000000080406226. BIC/SWIFT: BPPIITRRXXX (for international payments).
  • Bank transfer payment is to be effected to Banca di Credito Cooperativo delle Prealpi, filiale di Conegliano. Current account registered in Atletica Industriali Conegliano. Description of payment: 6th Treviso Marathon entrance. IBAN IT42K0890461620000000124643. BIC/SWIFT: ICRAITRRP40 (for international payments).
It is obligatory to specify, on the description of payment, the names of registered athletes.

The Organization does not accept registration forms with no registration fees, no Fidal card number nor medical certificate for participation in athletics, nor with incomplete address or missing personal data.

For multiple registrations of athletes who are all members of the same sport club, please download the form from internet or ask for it the office.

REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES

  • race number
  • chip hiring for timing measurement
  • insurance and medical assistance
  • refreshments and sponge-baths along the course
  • race packs (guaranteed only for the first 7.500 enrolled)
  • Pasta Party ticket
  • Transport of personal clothing items, in appropriate bags, from the starting point to the arrival
  • free bus shuttle service for athletes transport from Treviso to Vittorio Veneto and vice-versa, both before and after the race
  • medal of participation (for placed athletes)
  • final results mailed by sms or e-mail

CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

The certificate of participation will be sent only to those who request for it at the time of application. The cost of this service is 5 Euro.

REGISTRATION FEE REFUND

Registration fees are not refundable. The registered athlete who can’t take part at the Treviso Marathon 2009 has the possibility of transferring part of the registration fee to the Treviso Marathon 2010.

An amount of 5 € will be withheld from the registration fee, paid by the athlete, for office services.

The athlete, in this case, has to inform the Treviso Marathon about his/her impossibility of performing within March 21st 2009. Then the athlete will have to formalize the registration for the 2010 edition paying the possible registration fee supplement.

In case of renunciation of transferring the fee to the 2010 Edition, the athlete will completely lose the registration fee paid.

CLOSING DATE OF REGISTRATION

The strict deadline for registration is March 19th, 2009.

REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION

  • From January 1st, 2009 you can check your registration on-line on the website www.trevisomarathon.com
  • From March 1st 2009 the confirmation letters, including the number assigned, will be sent by post or by e-mail.
To all those athletes who will indicate an e-mail address on the registration form, the confirmation letter will be sent by e-mail. For this reason we ask you to write your address clearly.

Athletes, who, for any reason will not receive the registration confirmation, can get it by the secretariat stand placed in the Expo Marathon, in the race numbers area.

RACE NUMBERS COLLECTION

  • The number and the race pack can be collected in person on Friday, March 27th (from 12.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.) and on Saturday, March 28th (from 10 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.), at the Marathon Expo placed in Treviso. Numbers cannot be collected on Sunday morning. Athletes who are unable to collect the number, can delegate someone else, filling in a specific form sent along with the confirmation letter, and enclosing in it a copy of their own ID card.
  • Athletes subscribed within 31/01/2009, resident in Italy (but not in Treviso), can request for the sending of the race number and chip, filling in the specific form and sending it at the secretariat of the Marathon; the form is available on the website of the Treviso Marathon. Along with the specific form it is necessary to send copy of the receipt of payment for this service. Only athletes regularly subscribed at the 6th Treviso Marathon, and in respect of the sanitary laws on the date of the race, can request for the sending of the race number and the chip. The cost of this service is 25 euro and it will be effected at one and only address, indicated by the athlete in the specific form, for a minimum of 5 race numbers.
At the time of collecting the numbers, all athletes have to show the registration confirmation sent by post or by e-mail by the Organization.

TRANSPORTATION OF ATHLETES

A free bus shuttle and a train service will be reserved only to competitors to reach the race starting point in Vittorio Veneto before the race. To enter the bus or the train just show your race number.

Further information about the modalities of this service will be communicated to all athletes by the confirmation letter or by the marathon website.

RACE PACK AND MEDAL

The race pack is guaranteed to the first 7500 enrolled and it will be handed out along with the race numbers collection. All placed athletes will be given a participation medal.

PERSONAL CLOTHES BAGS

There will be a free transport service from Vittorio Veneto (start) to Treviso (arrival) for all bags containing athletes’ personal clothes.

Only bags given from the Organization (included into the race pack) can be used. The bags must be marked with the specific sticker (included into the number envelope).

Even though it guarantees the best care for the pick up, transport and returning of the bags, the Organization is not responsible for any possible loss and it won’t effect any refund.

STARTING TIME

The 6th Treviso Marathon will start at 9.45 a.m. There could be time changes due to television coverage of the race. Disabled races will start at 9.35 a.m. for Olympic wheelchairs and at 9.40 a.m. for hand bikes.

TIMING

Timing measurement and elaborated place list are managed by Timing Data Service.

The chip will be given collecting the number. Athletes who fail to put the chip on won’t be timed and won’t be placed.

The chip will be collected after the arrival point. Athletes who won’t finish the race or, for any reason, won’t give the chip back at the end of the race, are asked to send it to: Maratona di Treviso Scrl, via Martiri delle Foibe 20 – 31015 Conegliano (Z.I. Scomigo).

In case they won’t do so, they will be obliged to pay 20 Euro as a compensation for damage.

INDICATIONS ALONG THE COURSE

The progressive kilometres along the course will be indicated with specific signboards at the roadside. There will be an indication even at the half-marathon passage.

Timing Data Service carpets will be placed at Km 10, 21,097 and Km 30 for the partial timing measurement. There will be even the Real Time service.

TIME LIMIT

The race time limit is 6h00’.

REFRESHMENTS AND SPONGE BATHS

The Organization has planned the following refreshment points: Km 5 – 10 –15 – 20 – 25 – 30 – 35 – 40 - 42,195. Sponge-baths will be placed at: Km 7,5 -12,5 -17,5 -22,5 - 27,5 – 32,5 - 37,5.

WITHDRAWN ATHLETES

Appropriate vehicles for medical assistance will follow the race and will help in the transportation of withdrawn athletes.
Five placements (km. 10 - km. 21,097 - km. 30 - km. 35 - km. 40) will serve as meeting points for withdrawn athletes who will be accompanied at the arrival area to pick up their bag (depending on the progress of the race).

PRICE-GIVING

  1. Top category. The first 20 men and the first 10 women placed in the Top Category will be awarded. The price-giving for the first three men and women will take place in the arrival area just after the race.
  2. Amateurs/masters. The first three athletes of any Fidal category – men and women- will be awarded. The price-giving will take place at 2.30 p.m. in the Marathon Expo.
  3. Disabled athletes.The following categories will be awarded. Handbikes men Paraplegics: first 10 placed; tetraplegics: first 3 placed. Handbikes women. Paraplegics: first 3 placed; tetraplegics: first 3 placed. Olympic wheelchairs, men. Paraplegics: first 5 placed. T51: first 3 placed. T52: first 3 placed. Olympic wheelchairs, women. Paraplegics: first three placed. Blind men: first 3 placed.

COMPLAINTS

Any complaints must be presented in written form to the head judge not later than 30 minutes after the end of the race. Please note that a fee of 30 Euro is to be paid for processing complaints. This will be refunded in case the complaint is upheld.

For further information about all applicable regulations (not provided for by this regulations) , please refer to general Fidal regulations. The panel of judges reserve the right to disqualify athletes who fail to pass the assigned check points on the route to the finishing-line.

IMAGE RIGHTS

With the application at the 6th Treviso Marathon, the athlete grants Organizers, Sponsors and media partners, to use all images, still and moving, taken through any medium and all promotional and/or advertising material in any part of the world. This will be valid for a period of time according to the provisions of the law and to any applicable extension.

FINAL DIRECTIONS

The Organizing Committee reserve the right to modify, in any moment, part of the above regulations if absolutely necessary.

Any possible changes concerning services, places and timetables, will be communicated to all athletes by the confirmation letter or on the website www.trevisomarathon.com.

Together with the race number, the organization will hand over to all athletes the essential information concerning the participation in the race.
